The Alumni Car Show today, from 10-1. We had Paddy ready to go. I had been polishing a wheel every day after work this past week. Levi would sit out in his walker on the sidewalk and watch me. It was Levi's first car show. He seemed interested to a small degree. We were grateful for the sun hat Susan had made for him, although there was a lot of taking it off and throwing it to the ground by Levi. :) Levi took a nap partway through. We saw a lot of people we knew, including Tiffany and JD and their twins; Richard and Heather and their kids, and Savannah. We got more sun than I realized, Levi did end up with a little red on his arms that evening and the next day.
This weekend is Walla Walla College's Alumni Weekend. Tonight we took Levi to the Spaghetti Feed at Merchants Restaurant and there was a Steel Drum band that was really neat. We sat with Eric and Stacie and had a good time.
Levi decided today was the day to help me in the kitchen. He opened up a cabinet and pulled out all my loaf pans and started banging them around. His favorite sound lately is "Ba!" He likes to dance to music. The results from Levi's blood test arrived in the mail today also and all is normal.
Our five year wedding anniversary. We helped my mom move to Tri-Cities. Lara babysat Levi for us so we could go out to dinner - we ended up going to Lucious By Nature which was fabulous. Initially we tried Whoopem Up but they had no reservations available and neither did 26Brix. Apparently there was a bike race in town this weekend.
Levi went in this morning at 9:30 to his nine month checkup with Doctor Tom and that went really quite well. Levi was weighed and measured and he has lost some weight from last month, we believe it was due to his illness. He is at 18 lbs 14 oz this month and 27 1/4" tall. I forget what his head circumference is. He is at 50% (percentile) for his head and 25% for his height and weight. Doctor Tom could still hear his heart murmur, it was not worse or better, he said it sounded about the same and no worries for now. He made up a lab sheet for us to go and have some bloodwork done on Levi, to check CBC and lead levels. Then the nurse came back in to give him his shot, he only got one today (for polio) and he did not even cry. So then we walked over to the lab and turned in our sheet and waited. And waited. And waited. Levi got hungry so I fed him and we waited some more. Finally they called us. The nurse cleaned his finger and then pricked it and when the blood came forth she would catch it in a little mini vial and then tap tap tap it on the counter and then catch more blood and tap tap tap. This went on for quite some time. She had to fill one vial to the second line and the other vial to the first line. He was a little fussy (understandably so) but overall better than I expected for such an ordeal. Then finally she had all the blood she needed and she took it in the back to be sure it was a good sample and in the meantime another nurse gave Levi a purple bandaid for his finger and a sticker on a stick.
Today is Buddy's birthday and my old dog is now nine years old. It is kind of neat that his ninth birthday fell during Levi's ninth month. I got a photo of the two of them together today. I also took Levi back to Wal*Mart for his nine month photo. I chose Dogwoods for the background this time since our Dogwood tree out front is flowering.
Levi is nine months old today, where has the time gone?! He has his first cold, so that has had its own share of challenges. He had a fever for about three days and would not sleep unless one of us was holding him. The extra cuddle time was nice but we didn't get anything else done! His top teeth are really coming through (all four).
Susan and Lille arrive for a visit! We have a nice time visiting and try some new restaurants around town; Sweet Basil pizzaria, Aloha Sushi, and WhoopemUp. We also take a drive into the country.
The left upper center tooth is visibly very obvious today. Last night Levi slept from before nine pm to 6:40 am and was just starting to stir when I went in to get him up. It was nice to have a whole night to sleep again :) as he had been waking around 1 am crying from teething.
